3 mill vs 11 mill????

I just heard something from MSNBC to the effect that in the recent time frame (not sure what that was), Repubs have raised 3 or 4 times more than Dems. Sorry, can't give the exact show, as hubby was clicking through videos on msnbc.com.

Is this true?

The guy being interviewed said something about Dems getting the staff together, and that would change... Not reassuring. Puzzling!!!

We're always working on fundraising. Anyone who can afford it should donate. Anyone who has the time should volunteer.

I've found it to be more productive than alternately typing up alarmed comments and wringing one's hands.

Trump should be an absolute gift for the party fundraising efforts. If the Republicans are raising more than us (by more than 3 times!!) then whoever is coordinating DNC fundraising needs a giant kick up the ass. We can't go into 2018 without the resources to run a proper campaign, it would be ridiculous and totally irresponsible.

the Cuccinelli suit alleged that Strategic Campaign Group and the associated Conservative Strike Force Political Action Committee — an independent group not affiliated with the candidate — raised about $2.2 million by assuring donors it would spend that money to help elect the GOP candidate. But the suit alleged the PAC and Strategic Campaign Group failed to follow through on promises of an extensive media campaign on Cuccinelli's behalf.

The RNC have raised about twice as much and have more in reserve according to this article, BUT

Dem House campaign arm outraises Republicans

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) raised twice as much as its Republican counterpart did in July, with the two sides stockpiling cash for the 2018 midterm fight for the House majority.

The DCCC raised $6.3 million last month, compared to the $3.8 million brought in by the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC).

The two committees are in about the same financial shape overall — the Democratic group has raised $66.2 million this year compared to the $63.9 million raised by the NRCC. But while the DCCC has outraised the NRCC over each of the past three months, the NRCC has about $12 million more in cash on hand.

The NRCC filed its monthly campaign finance report on Sunday, while the DCCC filed its report last week.

Both parties are fundraising intently ahead of the 2018 midterms, with Democrats confident that President Trump’s sagging favorability and historic trends have already put the House in play.
