Michael Flynn was the beginning of the end for the current administration. The New York Times is reporting that Robert Mueller is now asking for the White House to turn over documents pertaining to Flynns employment as a foreign agent and with the Trump campaign. Mueller is supposedly investigating whether Flynn was getting kickbacks from his time on the Trump campaign, which would be classified as fraud.
Why is this significant for Mike Pence?
Flynn has already admitted to the Trump team that he was a paid foreign agent, but he was still hired for the National Security Adviser position. Mike Pence knew Michael Flynn was a criminal, but claimed his innocence anyways.
Muellers investigation into these kickbacks brings up the question, did Pence know about those too? If Pence knew about these crimes then he committed obstruction of justice.
Co-founder of the Democratic Coalition, Scott Dworkin was on MSNBCs Morning Joy recently and shared his thoughts on Mike Pence taking the fall for hiring ex-General Michael Flynn .............

(615 posts)Why does source matter. It is an opinion piece done with citing pieces from NYT.
That's pretty much like saying none of our opinions matter because we aren't credible sources.

I have no doubt he will go after whomever threatens our republic in a straightforward and thoroughly genius way. Including Puritan Pence.

(2,190 posts)That's a new one for me! I like him too.
i think depending on when Trump's approached, he'd be fine with throwing Pence under the bus. He can't have been happy to see Pence all presidential and helpin' out down in Texas today.

(9,426 posts)Mueller looks presidential, too. He would have the character to be president. None of the current candidates (Pence, Ryan and others) even come close. Kerry would have made a GREAT president. He commands respect. Name one singe member of the gop who could come close to Mueller or Kerry? The party of flim flam artists and scammers.

(37,648 posts)Pence was not part of the Trump inner circle. He was named as VP because the GOP wanted Pence. Trump didn't even know Pence.
I also don't see where there's any obstruction by Pence, even if he knew Flynn was getting kickbacks.

(37,648 posts)That's what was being said at the time. Party unity. Because Trump wasn't really a Republican (he's not anything). Close to the religious right, a group we know Trump relies on for key support. Koch brothers liked Pence.
But I never heard Manafort was involved.

(37,648 posts)Pence was the party favorite. Party unity. Close evangelical ties. Koch brother favorite. Manafort, Trump's campaign mgr at the time, agreed Pence was a good choice. So did Trump's family, I read.

(81,085 posts)They're both liars and dirty all over because of this.
I'm referring to Pence as Mike "this is the first I've heard of it" Pence.
He was HEAD of the transition team after Chris Christe got bounced early. And that's been his regular go-to answer when questioned about ANYTHING funky that happened during the transition. His CONSISTENT default was to play dumb. Stuff that, as chair of the transition team, he HAD to know about it to some degree, at least. And he stayed in that capacity until the inauguration.
So he's either a repeated bald-faced liar or he's a shitty manager. I'd go with both.
