has Irma making landfall along the east coast around the mouth of Chesapeake Bay next Sunday evening (000Z Monday) as a monster storm. This has trended west from yesterday's model that had it staying just off the coast. This is at the end of the model period so there is ample room for adjustments. The GFS is only one of many meteorological models but it tends to be fairly accurate, especially during this time of year. I would expect the exact track to be somewhat different but in the general area that this depicts.

But it has to be pointed out, if this storm goes up Chesapeake Bay, it will completely wipe out Smith Island and the surrounding areas, like wipe them off the map.

These are the places where Trump went out of his way to counter argue a report of climate change affecting them. I believe he called the mayor there and said " you'll be fine for a long time" or something to that effect

oops

Correction, had to look it up: It was Tangier Island, and Trump proclaimed it will "be there for hundreds of years"
