Holy shit! I looked up the "prosperity gospel" because of Joel Olstean and look what I found in the

Bible.

First, one article that refuted the prosperity gospel named some bible verses that these prosperity preachers use to justify what they say but truly none of them really say what the prosperity preachers claim they say.

And the one verse I followed talks about how the rich should give to the poor so that all may be made equal

Here is one verse these prosperity preachers try to use.

2 Corinthians 8: 9 - 9 "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich."

BUT they mention that the rest of the paragraph dispells this verse even says that God wants equality among people and their money. Of course none of them mention this. And I am including all the Republicans who say they are Christian but are filthy wealthy

I've highlighted the verses that talk about equality. The rest talks A LOT about giving.

The Collection for the Lord’s People
8 And now, brothers and sisters, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches. 2 In the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. 3 For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the Lord’s people. 5 And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us. 6 So we urged Titus, just as he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also to completion this act of grace on your part. 7 But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you[a]—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.

8 I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.

10 And here is my judgment about what is best for you in this matter. Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11 Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have.

13 Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14 At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. The goal is equality, 15 as it is written: “The one who gathered much did not have too much, and the one who gathered little did not have too little.”

hope this one is used. I probably posted too much of it and just left the part about equality but the rest is all about giving.

If Olstean was to tithe on his worth it would be 5 million a year. I bet he doesn't come close to that.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton gave 10% of her income to charity.

Pence LIED straight into the camera about HRC and the Clintons in general. LIED. Said their charity only gave 10% of what it collected and kept the rest. The truth was the EXACT opposite. Just 10-11% was what they kept. The vast amount of what was left, they gave away to the charity for which they'd raised it.

They seem to have had some very different ideas on what being Christian was about and I'll stick to the original.

7. The original was simply a sect of Judaism

Paul brought the gentile Greeks and Romans to the party, and with it the corrupting influence of wealth. The problem is without Paul there is no Christianity. It would have simply died out like all the other renegade Jewish sects.

Help these heathens out.

Isn't it interesting that in Rome there was Caesar worship, and here we have tRump worship? Very similar if you ask me.

Up until the 18th century, most nations' authority to lead was derived either directly or indirectly from an imaginary sky daddy, naturally with a more terrestrial authority providing certification. It's still that way in some places such as in the fundamental theocracies of some nations. Many on the right are striving very hard to return to such a system.

re-interpretation 500 years ago that said people can be saved just by believing in Jesus as their savior. I also realize that concept came about 1,500 after the death of Christ. Before that Catholics went to confession regularly and confessed their sins and were given penitence.

I think confession caused Christians pay more attention to their actions. Today how many people call themselves Christians and act like total nasty people? It seems the only thing a lot of these churches teach is to hate gays, not have sex outside of marriage and ban abortions.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.

And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
