We manage to have as robust a economy as them without purposefully polluting the environment and throwing vulnerable people under the bus.

California has much to be proud of, but they haven't stopped using fossil fuels and they have to come from somewhere and be refined somewhere, don't they?

California is screwing the poor by not making it easier to build housing. We need to limit the ability of local governments to effectively outlaw more housing. Why don't San Francisco and San Jose permit five hundred fifty story apartment buildings? Why don't we impose steep taxes on vacant land? If you own land zoned for apartments you should be taxed on the value of the apartments whether you build them or not. We could pass laws to make housing half its current price but instead we protect the rich and screw the poor. So it's not just Texas with often land usage laws.

We are still a state within the United States. It's not as if we're Sweden.

But that narrative only works by ignoring all the weaknesses of the Texas model, like low wages, minimal regulations, and other things that are overlooked.

involved. They only want $$$$$$$$$$ and will do and say anything to maintain their own status, agenda, money and control. They lobby for fewer safety regulations and restrictions and don't care about anyone or anything (the $ cult of tRump).

Send the bill for this disaster directly to the TX state government and their billionaires and lobbyists who profit from fewer regulations and less accountability. Tell God fearing, high morality Cruz and Cornyn to go straight to hell.
