The entire staff of a Minneapolis bar quit after they found out the owner donated to David Duke

"SNIP............

De Roma donated $500 to Duke’s campaign. When approached by local news station WCCO , De Roma said “whatever”:

"Well, whatever," De Roma says. "What do you expect? It's basically something that is blown up beyond what it should be."

You can hear De Roma's comments, made through his front door screen door, and see an interview with a heartbroken, now unemployed bartender who has a star of David tattoo visible behind her ear. After the report surfaced, shocked employees met and the full staff quit, along with several contract employees and the bar is now closed:

If De Roma intends to reopen the bar, he'll need a new set of employees.

Club Jaeger is in the North Loop area of downtown Mpls, a renovated area that is popular with gen-y younger gen -x crowd. Kinda funky and eclectic, more of a hipster tattooed sort of place than the Bro and Frat centric bars that make up most of downtown. Had a good industrial/goth night on Thursdays.

I'm sure the employees will have little to no trouble finding other jobs. Mpls economy is good and I think most interviews would go something like.

Applicant: Hi, I saw you're looking for a bartender?
Manager: Yes Iam, where did you last work?
Applicant: Club Jaeger, I quit cuz the owner is a nazi.
Manager: When can you start!

Didn't go there a lot myself (I tend to not go downtown) but it's a shame to lose the space.

DeRoma (the owner) can gtfo of town, however.

peace

how every single one of these employees now has a new position somewhere nearby. Probably making more money than at Duke's Bar.

I do hope they all find new jobs quickly. And given they're in Minneapolis, I expect that will happen.
