(61,538 posts)He's like dog shit on the collective shoe of our nation's soul.
He's not even big enough to be a big asshole. He's just a puny little shit. If it weren't for his daddy's money (which he squandered) he'd be rotting in some little jail cell cowering from his gangster boss. He'd be a crook but not a successful one. He'd be a snitch.
In fact, that's what he is.

You blame Trump for the things that these people believe? If you want to change their minds, you need a better argument than just hate.
One thing I "heard" on FB from a liberal friend was that she was looking forward to those old white Christian males dying. I did not bother to tell her that I myself am an old white Christian male, but I did quit following her.

(38,302 posts)Maybe I can kill it.
I quit high school in the 'seventies and fled 99% white U.S.A. and have never looked back. My middle and high school experience was Lord of the Flies. The white boy bullies called me "queerbait."
I've spent most of my life now living in communities where straight white nominally Christian people are not the majority. But we still have cringeworthy privileges. Younger guys will call me "sir" sometimes, dripping with irony, seeing if I have a chain to yank, but I also run into older guys who automatically call any white guy "sir" because they grew up in a world where doing otherwise was dangerous.
It's not that I hate white people my age, it's just that even among those who consider themselves liberal and progressive, they can be quite clueless. I know I've been, and maybe still am at times.
My grandfather, who was progressive in many ways since he really did have Jewish and "colored" friends and coworkers he respected, was very upset that I was marrying in his words, a "Mexican girl." Men in his White Wild West family simply didn't do that. He boycotted our wedding. To his credit, he got over it.
That's the white culture, the culture I was born into, that can't die soon enough.
Maybe I can't change hearts and minds, but perhaps I can mock and shame them into silence. Trump opened a big old closet of shit in white U.S.A. and now it's spilling out.
Trump's supporters really are the "good German" Nazis our nation fought in World War II.

(37,573 posts)I personally hate it when people call me sir, makes me feel old and my knee-jerk response is "don't call me sir, I work for a living"
One of my white co-workers tells me that his Mexican father in law hates him, because he hates white people.

Philip K. Dick's and Amazon's The Man in the High Castle would have been a real possibility.

(21,646 posts)various ages at trump rallies and Nazi marches . The guy who killed in VA and the ones in VA beating a black man bloody - none of them old at all. Check how many women not old voted for trump and are constantly caught and go viral seen going off on non whites for nothing but racism
There are kind of racial issues against non white students in schools some starting in elementary years
For years I heard how the tea party wasn't a problem because thier beliefs would die out in a few years with them . How's that working out??
These people were all haters way before Trump came on the political scene and come in all ages , gender and are not all religious

(10,611 posts)The easiest thing is to deport those who are not U.S. citizens.
In the meantime, they're ramping up to take care of the nonwhite citizen "problem":
Infiltrating the law enforcement community with white supremacists
Beating the drums of BLM as "animals" and "terrorists"
Allowing the police to receive surplus war weapons
Sessions as A.G. lifts civil rights protections and removes oversight from the DoJ
It all fits. But removing non-U.S. citizens and banning entry by certain groups is the first step. They'll work their way to what Limbaugh and his ilk have been planting in their heads: lazy, violent black 'thugs' living on food stamps and welfare courtesy of hardworking whites.

(57,349 posts)Hatred of the other has always been the American way, it started with the genocide of Native Americans, then it was slavery, witch hunts, homophobia, McCarthyism, hatred of Muslims...it never ends.
Trump didn't create the racists and xenophobes, he emboldened them. His election and everything he's done since taking office validates their ideology.

(28,834 posts)Pete Seeger once said: Education is what you get when you read
the fine print; experience is what you get when you don't.
It looks like many Americans will learn from the school of hard
knocks because they literally can't see the fine print.
That says that dreamers and immigrants are actually driving
our economy; and many of them are taking jobs that whites
literally won't do.
We have 800,000 dreamers, for instance, who are putting
energy and money into our society. If they were to be
deported, the hard knocks will begin fast.
In fact, with 45's immigrations policies, and an ICE agency
that is particularly inhuman and cruel, our society is already
suffering. Even Hurricane Harvey survivors will recover
much slower because of it.
Sigh.
