Man charged with pepper-spraying transgender woman at 'Stand Against Hate' rally

ASBURY PARK — Police arrested a 22-year-old Scotch Plains man who allegedly pepper-sprayed a transgender woman at a sign-making party held on the boardwalk in advance of the Stand Againt Hate rally that was held on Monday in the city's Springwood Park.

Morris May, a self-described former Progressive who has shifted to the Right, was charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose after an alleged altercation with a transgender woman on Sunday night. May was released on his own recognizance to await a court date scheduled for Oct. 17.

Reached by phone following his release, May said he went to Asbury Park with his brother, William, 20, after hearing about the sign-making party that LGBT activists were holding at a gallery on the boardwalk called Gift. His brother and May were carrying a "Trump 2020" sign and approached a group of LGBT activists who were outside the gallery, he said.

"My brother and I are both hard-core conservatives," said May, adding that he supports three things: "liberty, free speech and the Republican Party."

If you assault a trans woman because of who they are, you don't support free speech. We got to stop that! The right does not own free speech!

As per mathematics, one commonality, in and of itself, does not create sets, regardless of how much we wish it to be true.

It requires a set of commonalities large enough to the relative sizes of each for commonality to be achieved, regardless of guesswork.

To even acknowledge his existence with a glance is an insult to the trash strewn about his feet, for that garbage holds more value and certainly deserves my attention far more than that piece of scum does.

I can toss garbage. I can recycle trash.

That human detritus takes space better served by outhouses.
