Hurricane Irma is heading straight for Trumps Caribbean mansion

BY NICHOLAS NEHAMAS

SEPTEMBER 05, 2017 10:55 AM

President Donald Trump doesn’t just have to worry about safeguarding the nation ahead of Hurricane Irma.

Trump owns a multi-million dollar mansion on the Caribbean island of St. Martin — and Category 5 Irma is heading straight for it.

A hurricane warning is in effect for St. Martin — a French dependency about 230 miles east of Puerto Rico — and other nearby islands, meaning tropical storm-force winds could arrive within the next 24 to 36 hours.

Trump owns the 11-bedroom gated mansion through a trust set up to avoid conflict of interests during his presidency. The trust has been trying to offload the beachfront property for months. In August, its listing price was slashed from $28 million to $16.9 million, according to the Washington Post. (Ethics experts have worried a buyer could seek to curry favor with Trump by overpaying.)

Altho, down here, among us Dems in town, when his name is mentioned, most of the town grand dames simply say..."Well......" and let it trail off in a significant tone.
Speaks volumes!! if done right.

The trick to Southern is tone and how a word is accented at the time. Can be funny as hell.

that I met in 1969 on a student trip. She was wickedly genteel. I totally understand what you mean about the tone. She could make me laugh until I cried, and then look at me with her big brown innocent Southern eyes.

very "genteel", very soft spoken, rather reserved till you get to know her well enough.

she was describing the father of a neighbor, said neighbor being a wonderful person, the father not.
"He was just lower than ditch dirt" she said, in a sharp scathing tone.

who needs swear words when you have so much tonal quality to rely on, eh?

and then travel NNE, making sure Mar-a-Loco has the maximum amount of beach erosion possible. If it also destabilized that ugly wall of timeshare condos that prevent locals from accessing previously unspoiled beaches, that would be the icing on the cake. Or let the lobbies and parking garages get flooded and let the fancy condos be accessible by boat, the beach having retreated far behind them. That'll work, too. They'll have sea views on both sides.

Oh, and salt water incursion into the gilt monstrosity itself would finally scour the kitchen clean.

Ugly. Truly a poor reflection on this site.

They should be ashamed, but I reckon they think they're just really clever. Gah.
