Florida residents facing Irma demand Trump open Mar-a-Lago as a shelter

Florida residents facing Irma demand Trump open Mar-a-Lago as a shelter

http://www.rawstory.com/2017/09/you-either-help-or-turn-your-head-florida-residents-facing-irma-demand-trump-open-mar-a-lago-as-a-shelter/

illions fled Florida at the end of this week, fearing they wouldn’t survive the powerful hurricane predicted to bring storm surges from six to 15 feet. But those that stayed, either due to financial restrictions or out of sheer gumption, are telling President Donald Trump he should open up his private club as a shelter.

Thousands who stayed behind to face Hurricane Irma are flooding into shelters, and according to The News-Press, some county shelters are already full. That’s why many in South Florida are wondering why the president isn’t stepping in to help, The Independent reported Saturday.

“Of course he should” Florida resident Rick Castillo said about Trump opening Mar-a-Lago.

“He should be doing anything to help the public,” Castillo said of Trump. “When people need help, you either help or you turn your head. I think Trump is turning his head.”

Trump purchased Mar-a-Lago for $10 million and has already received $17 million in insurance payouts for hurricane damages. Being deposed under oath, Trump admitted pocketing some of the money.

“It really beat up Mar-a-Lago very badly,” Trump claimed, though he only applied for building permits to do $3,000 worth of hurricane repairs.

Paraphrases them slightly, adds a click bait headline, etc.

(Also it makes no sense for Mar a Lago to be a shelter - seems like it ought to be completely evacuated)

It's also gotten sloppy lately (many typos).

If they cite a source like WaPo or Politico, I will sometimes go to the source and post that instead.

I still think it's a better "news aggregate" (or news theft factory) than Huffington Post, which is filled with all kinds of celebrity and tabloid fodder.

If something looks fake or too speculative, I do my best to avoid posting it here. Occasionally, after I've posted, DUers have pointed out that the story has since been debunked.

I like the site in an "all things considered" way. Yes, they specialize in clickbait. And if the story has no substance, I don't post it here.

I don't work for them, I'm not a paid spokesman, I'm not a Raw Story fanboy...I just have a limited amount of time in each day to share what I think might be of interest here, and they're a source I use.

People might actually be somewhat safe there.

Of course, no way the sTrumpet will open his bordello to anyone "below" him.
