What is going on in the Keys? I know power is out but so many missing people?

I keep seeing pictures of horrible devastation on Cudjoe Key, Sugarloaf Key, Marathon, and people begging for news of relatives. Some of the houses.....if anyone was in them, I can't see how they survived. One woman saw a house another woman posted and said that was her house, and she left two pet sitters and 3 labradors there. WTF is wrong w people? The windows were all blown out, looked like wind or water had torn through it.
Im praying that the lack of communcation is from no cell phones. It is eerie...like when people were putting up posters of missing loved ones right after 9/11. Breaks my heart.
