Jemele Hill Stands By Comments, But Apologizes to ESPN For Painting Them 'In an Unfair Light'

by Joe DePaolo | 12:18 am, September 14th, 2017

After nary a mention during her SportsCenter broadcast hours earlier, ESPN’s Jemele Hill took to Twitter late Wednesday night “to address the elephant in the room.”

Via the social media platform, Hill issued a statement regarding her Tweet in which she called President Donald Trump a white supremacist.

The SportsCenter anchor stood by her comments, saying they reflected her “personal beliefs.” But she apologized to ESPN for making the comments in a public manner which pained the network “in an unfair light.”

ESPN issued a statement of their own (via Brian Stelter), in which they accepted her apology.
