Anyone else a bit queasy about leadership working with tRump??

I like how the RW is having a meltdown and I hope The Dream Act becomes law but something about working with him alarms me.
Maybe because most everyone who does regrets it?
I don't trust him at all.

I think they're just playing him for whatever they can get, while taking advantage of the fact that there is a divide amongst the pukes. I don't beleive they will sell us out.

What's the worst that could happen? Chump looks like a fool, his base gets pissed, then he backtracks. It was worth a shot.

Ultimately, this just weakens the dipshit and divides the repukes. I'm cool with that. Being in the minority, what else can Dems do?

Some say that Pelosi and Schumer are very smart, and are playing him.

I laughed.

I have no confidence in any sort of normal behavior, or expectations that *Rump is really doing anything predictable, rational, or good for the country in the long run.

Chaos is the only constant here.

He is a grifter, con-artist nut-job and dangerous to Democracy.

we all wanted to see Trump's base erode. Trump's remaining base (about 30%) are bigots. Trump used them to gain the nomination and then combined luck, Russian meddling and Comey's asinine letter on Oct 28th into a narrow electoral college victory.

The only way Trump can lose his base is by betraying them and not act like a bigot. They voted for him because he portrayed a bigot. If he was "making believe" in order to get elected, we'll never forgive him. If he was "making believe" to fool the bigots in America, and they find out, they'll never forgive them.

In either case, Trump is shit out of luck.

He is completely untrustworthy. Pelosi and Schumer are continuing to play the "normalization" game, playing by traditional rules while this entire Regime is completely and totally abnormal, rogue and revolutionary. They are laying down with dogs and will wake up with fleas.

I think he’s being played for the fool that he is. End of the day - we don’t have the numbers. They can strike any deal they want to with him – but the Republicans won’t go along to get along.

I think they are shifting the narrative – it gives them the chance to say “we don’t have the numbers”. Let’s shut down that ‘obstructionist’ nonsense being spouted on the right.

You can’t obstruct if you don’t have the numbers.

As long as they get what they want before he gets what he wants. He'd welch on a deal in a second but I'm sure they are well aware of that. It also keeps them from being labeled obstructionist.

The republicans do not have the votes for anything major as their are so many splits in the party. The debt deal proved that and it als gave Trump his first win as he perceives it-because of democrats votes. He has no core values. So if he works with the plurality of republicans who favor the dream act along with the Democratic Party he can have another win. The fact that it is stabbing his most loyal followers in the back means nothing to him. They could not give him a win, embarrassed him so he will abandon them in a second.

Trump having absolutely no political grounding or knowledge of how government works will demonstrate flexibility from time to time when it suits him. His motivation stems from how "great" he can make himself look, and absent legislative "wins", he's coming to the realization that the GOP leadership has not been not delivering much. Pence is a different animal altogether, being a rigid ideologue who could be expected to tow the reactionary (no-compromise hard line conservatism) party line with consistency. If Trump is forced out or quits, we get Pence. Would that be taking us from very bad to much worse? I'm starting to think so.
