The NSC invoice is the strongest evidence uncovered to date that Trumps refusal to divest from his business empire has resulted in Trumps violation of the Constitutions anti-corruption Domestic Emoluments Clause. This provision prohibits the President from receiving emoluments (profitable payments, benefits, or advantages) paid by federal or state governments, beyond the salary approved by Congress. .................

(66,308 posts)The repugs are still waging a campaign of revenge for Nixon's resignation in disgrace forty-five years later. The Democratic Party held the Congressional majority then. There's no way in Hell the GOP is going to impeach, let alone convict, one of their own.

(10,494 posts)As long as they think they have a chance to get their Master's tax cuts done they will stick with him. They only have until the 2018, elections up to when the newly elected representatives and Senators are sworn in January 2019. After that they should not control both Houses of Congress. At that point I believe they would drop Trump, but hopefully it will not be their call anymore.
