Perhaps it's a distraction intended for Mueller's office. 'Documents in a safe' indeed.'

It could have been staged, but maybe those numpties are so clueless that they thought they could yak away about sensitive material at a restaurant right next to the NY Times office. Who knows, with that bunch?

save their asses and get out before Mueller throws the fat into the fan and it all blows up. No lawyer could defend Trump when the man's determined to self destruct in the most spectacular trainwreck.

But that could be possible, too, because Trump tends to hire nitwits.

When the best won't work for you because you don't pay your bills or listen to your legal advice, you run out of options of who to hire.

And you have to have somebody for the basics.

Trump can only get those like him; grifters and morons. Sometimes you get both in the same person, too.

I doubt it was staged, wouldn't be surprised if it was, but occam's razor after the last two years of watching Trump and those around him is that yes, they are that stupid.

It doesn't surprise me that Dowd would argue in public. He is not only tone-deaf regarding public relations, his ego surpasses Trump's. Read a bit about his personal and professional history and it's clear that he's a jerk.

Ty Cobb is no better and is just as dirty as his namesake.

Everyone in Trump's world is filthy.

When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Too much of a coincidence in my mind that these two lawyers would not only have this discussion in a very public place but speak loudly enough for someone (a reporter) to overhear, jot down notes and snap a pix.

But if you want to underscore the notion of faux news then this coinky-dink meeting makes a certain sense. Sow chaos, confusion, that's the ticket.

shocked that anyone would think professionals as expensive as these two would ever stoop to stage a lame stunt like having a loud conversation in a restaurant next to "America's Newspaper Of Record". This is an illustration how cynical we've all become. I weep for our once great nation. weep I tell you...

I have heard attorneys discuss cases in elevators. Many attorneys are careless.

As for those documents locked in a safe, I hope Mueller goes after them.
If they were withheld, then a privilege log stating the privilege should have been created and produced.
