since he previously said that the one thing that was holding him back was the AZ governor's support and opinion. MSNBC reported that it just got word that the governor DOES WANT REPEAL!
Call Congress and keep calling nonstop for the next two weeks! (202) 224-3121 THANKS!

Don't you think so? Having a healthy populous promotes wealth and longevity for a nation to survive.

(16,075 posts)Has it ever occurred to you, or anyone...that the Republicans and their sugar daddies aren't interested in a healthy population! We can assume that the main reason that certain politicians, are so against abortion and even birth control...is because they need a high birth rate in order to maintain a more controlled populace!
As long as they keep a breeding program going, they don't have any need for a long lived, healthy population!!!

🚨RED ALERT🚨
THREAD: GOP HEALTH CARE REPEAL IS BACK
Danger real Activism needed
- timeline
- targets
- how to fight back
McConnell "engaged and serious." White House "all hands on deck." Rs whipping votes this week, already at 49. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/17/obamacare-senate-republicans-repeal-242821
Mon 9/18: GOP leadership confers. (YOU CALL SENATE 202-224-3121)
Tue 9/19: GOP caucus lunch. (CALL PROTEST)
Wed: Senate goes home, Rosh Hash
All Sens home Wed 9/20-Mon 9/25. FIND THEM & PROTEST. Luther Strange (R-AL) away for primary vote thru Tue 9/26. So repeal could go Wed 9/27
McConnell will only sched a vote if knows he has enough Rs to pass: 50. If he does, vote will be btw Wed 9/27 & Fri 9/29. Yom Kippur = 30th.
Senate Parliamentarian won't allow a vote unless there's a CBO score. CBO has been instructed to put all else aside to focus on repeal bill.
DANGER: CBO normally gives score for COST ($) and for COVERAGE (# ppl who lose insurance). But *only $ req'd for Senate vote.*
CBO scores showing tens of millions of Americans will lose insurance coverage has helped derail past repeal votes. R solution: vote w/o #s
GOP hopes to ram through repeal vote before CBO figures out how many people will lose their insurance. Immoralbut also malevolently clever.
Ds pushing CBO to not release fiscal impact without also showing coverage impact. Unclear who'll prevail. Anyway: CBO score week of 25th.
Two more notes about timing. 1st: McCain has said no vote w/o hearings. So Johnson (R-WI) saying he'll hold a farcical "hearing" before 30th
Johnson hearing would be joke: not in relevant committee, not regular process. We'll see if McCain says it's enough. http://www.politico.com/story/2017/09/13/obamacare-repeal-bill-senate-242665
If GOP believes they have the votes, hearing done, fiscal CBO score in hand, they move to vote sometime 9/27-29... with ZERO hours of debate
ZERO hours of debate? Yes. Budget reconciliation votes require 20h of debatebut technically those hours already happened, back in July.
Explanation. The Senate is officially considering the bill the House passed, the AHCA. Each Trumpcare bill is just an "amendment" to AHCA.
The big votes that failed in July were votes to substitute new repeal bills in place of AHCA. Graham-Cassidy is just another amendment.

McCain's DC office: Hit button to talk to a person on his staff, rang and rang
McCain's Tucson office: Call wouldn't even go through
Talked to a staffer in Flake's DC office: She didn't know his position on repeal and didn't know when he would make appeal public. I left a strongly worded message with her.
Will keep trying McCain's offices.
UPDATE: I got through to a staffer in McCain's Phoenix office. He said senator had not made a statement yet. I asked for clarification of his comments on Sunday talk show, the aide could not clarify. I asked that McCain remember the empathy he found a month or so ago and vote against the repeal. Taking healthcare from millions and taking away preexisting condition protections from many millions more was morally indefensible.
BigmanPigman
(51,584 posts)That is very good news, I am getting a lot of busy signals and "mailbox full" too. I do not buy that Flake is undecided a bit. Whenever I have called in the past the staffers know how their rep is voting. Flake votes party line like McCain. I do not trust any single GOP person at all, they have proven time and time again that they would happily sell their granny and throw her under the bus if it means they get one more dollar to stuff into their fat mattresses.

To deny similar care to regular Americans is a disgrace. I'm not from AZ. I also reminded him that not everyone is married to an heiress.

(51,584 posts)and did NOT thank the grandstanding hypocrite. Many people sang his praises, even here on DU. I knew better and was told by the ACA support groups to stay vigilant since McConnell will NEVER give up, especially now that he needs a win. Remember the Gorsuch BS? McConnell is an evil bastard and every congressional GOP rep can be bought off with a single dollar. Now I hear Collins is being bought off as well.
I also called the REAL hero who came to vote with stage 4 cancer all the way from Hawaii (Dem Hirono). She didn't pull the BS that the grandstanding BS that the GOP bastard McCain did.
I hate the GOP with a passion.
