2. Dem. Senator Hirono says Repubs consider healthcare "a commodity, not a right."

(Well, it's a right if we give it to ourselves.) Even more to the point here is that the Repubs in congress also consider military personnel commodities that become a problem once they are no longer of use.

We witnessed this personally as a friend who was a career combat soldier battled a system run by lawyers that routinely processes wounded vets out with the intent of creating as little of a future expense stream as possible. After several tours of duty, including at least 3 in Iraq and Afghanistan, he was near retirement, so far too knowledgeable to make a good victim. But even he had to battle legally during prolonged illness for an equitable settlement during and past four years of treatment. His knee had been injured in service and his leg subsequently infected (by a military surgeon whom the investigation he demanded got cashiered early on) with bacteria for which there were no antibiotics and which made amputation too dangerous to attempt.

This system is "cutting the fat in government" as conservatives call it, but most never ever intended this.

4. Political bigotry is as real and profoundly dishonest as any other kind.

One should always avoid indictments of entire peoples one happens to dislike. They're always wrong. (This is one of the few cases in which sentences containing the word "always" will be the right multiple choice answer.)

If you can, you might consider that a whole lot of vets are conservatives and that a whole lot of conservatives have loved ones who receive care through the VA. That alone should give pause.

This will be passed by republicans
Signed by a republican.
They own it and I detest them. If you VOTE or call yourself a Republican you deserve everything you get.
My mom is an Army Vet any cuts to her services will probably kill her. KILL.
I'm not to worried if anyone's worried about what I think of the maggot in chief and his hordes.

7. The right is empowered by behaviors that match theirs, not "worried."

Get smart? Reassuring those who genuinely behave the way you dislike that their responses are normal and no worse than "the Democrats'," is not a good move.
