I don't care, I don't care, IDON'TCARE!

Finally, I have found the happy side of living with a brain injury. My memory is almost as bad as that guy's in my fav cult movie, Memento. Just like him, I write notes on my arms and hands since at least that way I won't lose them the way I do everything else that isn't attached firmly to my body like my toenails or whatever. I forget about all the small atrocities, but I certainly can remember the big ones like that orange creature from an alien planet who has taken over the White House. Plus I remember all the cool things about our country back in the day before most of my brain cells vanished. Remember when it wasn't acceptable to be a hood wearing member of the KKK? Remember when education was valued and teachers were respected? Remember when you didn't feel ashamed to admit to being an American? Remember when it was a good thing to provide meals on wheels to old folks before old folks became useless burdens on the taxpayers and should all be put out on the streets to die? I do!

I don't especially remember all the dem's infighting over platforms and personalities back in 2016. I don't especially WANT to remember all that foolishness. Thank Dog, I discovered DU on the day after the so-called election. It's as good as carefully inscribing "Bernie" in black ink on the sole of my left foot and making sure I use my nice purple sharpie to write "Hillary" on my right thumb.

Without DU, I'd be running out of body parts to remind myself about the coming MIDTERMS and how to spell "INDIVISIBLE" and I'd have nowhere to write the constant question every Coloradan asks daily - WHERE THE HELL IS SENATOR CORY GARDNER(R) AND CAN WE PLEASE THROW HIM TO CHEETO'S PET ALLIGATORS AS SOON AS WE FIND HIM?

I don't care about the past. Mistakes were made. Treason was committed by probably many more than we are aware of now. Comey is an asshole. I didn't kiss enough Bernie supporters and I didn't hug enough Hillary supporters. Mea culpa. Sic transit gloria mundi. But the sic doesn't have to keep transiting. We could give it a shot at coming together both as Dems and as very concerned Americans who are worried sick about the future of our country.

Let us all come together in these dire times and win our country back. I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE. I need to save room on the palms of my hands to write down the times of local INDIVISIBLE meetings and marches and protests. So thanks, DU for being an every fresh rehashing of old battles and bitter diatribes about how so and so threw our nation to the orangutans (my apologies to orangutans everywhere).

Just saying.

Thanks for expressing what so many of us are thinking! I just don't have the knack for writing that you have!

I want to move on already and focus on 2018. Has anyone noticed that we have A LOT of attractive young fresh faces running for Congress next year?! I see them on Twitter all the time.

Also, the democrats have won six out of six state house races since the election! We have a lot to be optimistic about.

See there goes my short term memory again. I just remember a friend telling me about DU as we were both reeling, just stunned and horrified by the so-called "election" results. I knew DU had been down but I didn't know that it was for so long.

At any rate, I'm still doing my best to look forward and forget about the past - especially since I'm such a good forgetter these days!

However, a good chunk of the in-fighting among us, is not really from us. Never was. There be bots here, and everywhere. There are also real live trolls posting garbage from the basement of their parent's homes or Mother Russia.

Just like the song "United we stand. Divided we fall."

Personally "I'd like to teach the world to sing."

Or buy the world a coke.

this is one of the best post-election posts on DU. I doubt that I am alone on DU in wanting to give you a great big hug....so somewhere, if you have any space left on the back of one of your hands, make a heart with DU in the center so you can remember that a whole bunch of folk here at DU loved your post and totally totally totally agree with you that top priority at this point is to move on, become active and do whatever it takes to save our democracy. Thank you....Thank you.....THANK YOU!.....for doing your part.

A nice big group hug is exactly what I needed this morning. DU actually helps me hang on to what little sanity I have left. It's wonderful to have a place where everyone recognizes how egregious this kabuki theater going on in the highest offices of this land really is. My disability has caused me to step through the looking glass from being a member of the middle class to life at the poverty line. I think of all the other Americans just like me who are doing their very best under difficult circumstances and get told that they don't deserve housing or require food, never mind medical care. I look around me at my beloved mountains and see all the forests dying from the effects of climate change. I worry that one morning we'll wake up to discover that San Francisco is no longer there and Cult 45 will actually cheer because those "damn liberals got what they deserved" courtesy our pals in N. Korea and Cheeto's crazed tweetlings.

Since I can no longer work, I have plenty of time to fight and fight I will! I'm going to draw a purple heart with "DU" in the center to make myself smile when I notice it. And when I accidentally wash it off, I'll write down the time and place of the next local INDIVISIBLE meeting. We are all so strong TOGETHER! Never forget that!

I am old and remember a America like that as well. Long before the GOP sold out the USA to a Russian dictator.

I am sick to death of the constant Bernie vs Hillary threads that are all over this site as well. Its done and over with, time to unite against the traitor republican party and save this country!

2018 is coming up fast and may be the last chance we have to stop the republican fascist takeover!

And thanks right back at you! This Mountain Mule will trudge right on over the Rockies to be there in DC for a protest by people with disabilities if that's what it takes. We MUST look forward and not back and never, ever give up on our country. We Dems must be as stubborn as our party mascot!
