Rep. Hunter calls for preemptive strike against North Korea

Rep. Duncan Hunter said that the United States needs to launch a preemptive strike against North Korea in order to prevent the rogue nation from harming the U.S. first.

“You could assume, right now, that we have a nuclear missile aimed at the United States, and here in San Diego. Why would they not aim here, at Hawaii, Guam, our major naval bases?” Hunter, an Alpine Republican, said during an appearance on a KUSI show on Thursday.

“The question is, do you wait for one of those? Or, two? Do you preemptively strike them? And that’s what the president has to wrestle with. I would preemptively strike them. You could call it declaring war, call it whatever you want,” Hunter continued.

Hunter, a member of a House Armed Services Committee and the subcommittee with jurisdiction over the United States’ nuclear arsenal, did not say if the military should strike North Korea with conventional or nuclear weapons.

2. What if NK decides to do their own preemptive strike? If they steam over the

DMZ and take Seoul the only way to take them out will be a massive ground invasion
even bigger than the one in the Gulf War. If they occupy Seoul we can't nuke them without
killing millions of South Koreans.

I agree with you, all NK has to do is invade SK. The first US strike on NK and they unless thousands of artillery pieces along the border with SK along with rockets and everything else. Millions of SK citizens will certainly die. We attack what NK military is along the Chinese border, and some of the weapons will hit China, and the Chinese sink every US ship within 1000 miles. A ship is a sitting duck with modern missiles coming at them.

but if they have artillery that close to SK I don't see how you could nuke them without killing
thousands of South Koreans but Trump may do it.
