Puerto Rico Is Trump's Katrina

President Donald Trump … does not care … about brown and black people.

As a dam cracked in Puerto Rico, spreading fear across an already devastated island, Donald Trump was in Alabama, calling a black former NFL player a “son-of-a-bitch.”

During a 90-minute rant that veered from incoherence to the raw belligerence we’ve come to know in the Age of Trump, the madman who is president went after sidelined NFL quarterback Collin Kaepernick without calling him by name.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘get that son of a bitch off the field right now,” Trump growled to wild cheers from the all-white crowd. “He is fired. He’s fired!'”

The fissure in the earthen structure holding back the Guajataca River threatened to put 70,000 souls in the path of 11 billion gallons of water flowing through Northwestern Puerto Rico to the ocean. While officials on the island rushed to evacuate and save lives, the president of the United States was rambling about “Rocket Man,” his nickname for his erratic counterpart in North Korea, and reveling in guttural chants of “lock her up!” – referring to his vanquished opponent in the presidential race that concluded ten long months ago. He waved his little hands around in absolute delight, telling his screaming Alabama fans they’d have to “ask Jeff Sessions about that.” He said Republicans in congress don’t have the “guts” to repeal Obamacare and leave 30 million Americans without healthcare.

Trump visited Texas, making a petting zoo out of black evacuees and writing his name on a wall. He vowed to visit Puerto Rico, too. He called the governor. But mostly, he focused on his preening, and stage stalking in Alabama, where the contest to replace his attorney general in the U.S. Senate gave him a chance to do the thing he loves most: be Donald Trump.

Puerto Rico will be his Katrina. May he rot in hell

Puerto Rico is drowning and the SOB calls Collin Kaepernick a “son-of-a-bitch” for disrespecting the flag for taking a knee against racism. This from a madman that has no clue what the flag or constitution means. A man that disrespects every American by calling Confederate statues a beautiful part of our nations history. A man that lauds the Nazis violent protest that resulted in death and injury and condemns Colin for protesting his right as a man...peacefully quietly and with respect...It is called freedom of speech, read up on the constitution Donnie. This from a man that doesn't give one fuck about the people that are drowning, lost all they have and may well starve and die, He used black people in Houston as a petting zoo while writing his name on the wall. His wife wore a FLOTUS hat to an area where people are drowning.

This from a man that is willfully and eagerly taking away healthcare from 30 million Americans after 3 historic and devastating hurricanes and the constant threat of a nuclear war. When we need it most he wants to take it away from many Americans. Why??? Tax cuts for the wealthy. Colin is UNAMERICAN Donnie? No that would be you stupid SOB!

I agree with this statement ‘get that son of a bitch off the field right now,” it is time for you to go don.

People are to disassociated with Puerto Rico since it isn't a state and isn't part of the US mainland.

Look at CNN's website. Only two stories about Puerto Rico, they're both buried, one of them is about MLB donating money and the other is about how far in debt Puerto Rico is.

It just doesn't have the same impact on people as Katrina did because it's not part of the US mainland.

The response was horrific. Trump will let Houston die...well at least the black and brown part. He used them as a petting zoo. Texas is part of the of the mainland and he does not give one shit about them. Taking away heath care from 30 million people when we have had the worst natural disasters is ignorant and in my opinion, his way of culling the heard.

As for Puerto Rico.

Most Americans Don’t Know Puerto Ricans Are American
The territory’s residents have held citizenship for nearly a century.

Puerto Ricans have held American citizenship since 1917, are able to carry American passports and can enter the U.S. mainland freely. Residents of the island can’t vote for a president unless they move to one of the 50 states, but they can send delegates to the party conventions.

Trump is such a fucking failure of a president. I am still amazed that anyone is stupid enough to support him.

Even W had the sense to step in it with this one only once, but Rump will be congratulating himself and everyone associated with him on their superb performances at every opportunity. He's just unaware so far that the need is fast coming.

Puerto Rico and the US Virgn Islands are struggling. This takes up time during every broadcast about his offensive comment and most of the nation's outrage.

The reason Katrina was so bad for Bush was we got 24-hour coverage with the simple message that the government had failed its people.
