Our country is being poisoned to death by its own President.
Not that it's surprising. Trump is and has always been a toxic personality and an agent of chaos. Everything he touches he destroys. Everywhere he goes, he leaves discord and ugliness in his wake.
And now we see it as a nation. He's using the bully pulpit to manipulated people to hate some of the most vulnerable people in society, immigrants and refugees. He's getting people all riled up over simple, quiet and respectful expressions of protest. And he's trying to create an upside world where the truth about him are all lies, and the lies about him are all truth. And everywhere, all over social media and on the streets, we're at each other throats, and he's eating it all up like candy, because it's all about him. It's always about him.
This is who he is. This is who he's always been. Except now he's the President.
So, no, it's not surprising.
But it is so, so, so utterly depressing to see.
