circumstantial evidence. There is enough circumstantial evidence of collusion with Russia. I imagine Mueller wants hard tangible evidence to prove his case. White collar crimes are a different animal but to me, a non lawyer, a crime is a crime. I guess nailing people "dead to rights" is needed.

(411 posts)He must know he's dealing with the foundation of our democracy too, and not just Trump the criminal. Gods above, he must wake up every morning wondering if it will be his last day on earth, considering the players in this game.

Even in the murder case you referenced, it probably took more than a year to put the case together and bring it to trial.
As long as Trump can't fire the Special Counsel, Mr. Mueller will put together airtight cases.

My point was that there are likely many people who could be caught up in Mr. Mueller's nets. They should all be prosecuted as well.
It's been observed many times that Mr. Mueller cannot indict Trump while he is president. NYS Attorney General Schneiderman might bring charges against Trump if he collects proper evidence but the only way Trump will be gone is if Congress impeaches and the Senate votes to remove him.
The political charges are different than the legal ones.
