Orthodox Jewish Men Block People From Watching an In-Flight Movie

http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2017/09/27/watch-these-orthodox-jewish-men-block-people-from-watching-an-in-flight-movie/

We’ve posted before about the problem of Orthodox Jewish men on planes refusing to sit next to women because they see even accidental contact as sexual in nature.

But I’ll admit I had never seen this before: It’s video of a Hasidic man trying to cover up the in-flight movie screen with a blanket as a colleague cheers him on and several people on the flight applaud the action.

Why couldn’t they cover their own eyes? Why not look away? Who the hell knows.

It’s not because it was an adult film or something. That movie was Music and Lyrics, a 2007 PG-13 film starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. If the reason for covering up that screen was so no one would have to watch a Hugh Grant film, I would understand, but the fear of something scandalous happening was hardly an issue.

Yeshiva World News, the publication that obtained the footage, says they don’t know the details of this flight — when it happened or where they were heading — but “the video speaks for itself.”

They give people pre-disposed to that behaviour an organizing body to be a part of, and reinforce those values being taught to their children.

They would probably run screaming and try to hide in the toilet

The flight crew should have stepped in as this could've caused a serious incident.

I don't see how they they think they can impose their views on others.

Get their names and tell them they can never fly the airline again unless they can behave like adults. They should have been arrested on arrival for interrupting a flight like that.

In the last 10 years or so, I've only seen planes that don't have that and have a screen for every seat on the back of the seat in front.

I wonder how they would try to censor every seatback on more modern planes?

I guess bring along a whole lot of dinner napkins and run around to cover them all up?

The latter are most obnoxious, and are one of the reasons I'm glad I left New York State. They are nasty drivers, very, very pushy.

It's too bad that they're not actually like the Amish, they wouldn't even be on an airplane if that were the case.

If you're on a modern plane with a touchscreen based system in the backs of each seat, you're more likely going to get current entertainment. But if it's a public screen you are definitely not going to get A-list content. You'll most likely get Z-grade movies from 10 years ago. Licensing rights are the biggest issue with that.

Seriously, these people are absolute perverts and wife abusers that we allow to get away with it because it has s their "religion". They absolutely hate women and can't acknowledge them for any good but their own pleasure, breeding and housekeeping.

Aren't these the bunch who photoshopped Hillary out of the photo of senior WH dignitaries during the raid that killed Osama?

And that there were people on the plane who were supporting them!! Woman hating Repug conservatives cheering them on! Grrrr!
