The irony

of all of the hooha over the NFL players and the national anthem came true for me today. A guy I work with said it was unpatriotic for these "assholes" to not respect our national anthem. I reminded him that he sat in front of us at an OU football game and when the national anthem came to "home of the brave" he and a ton of other white people over 40 yelled "home of the sooners". He had no response, just shook his head and walked away.

When we first moved here and we heard that yelled during the anthem I have to admit it offended me because my brother is one of "the
brave". The NFL players kneeling or sitting did not. This is about race, it is cloaked as nationalism, but it is race.
