do not think they need gun safety because they think they already know it all. Do you think they care about safety anyway? Aim, shoot, and hit your target. That is all they care about. Safety be damned.

The problem is they do. Gun safety teaches a shooter how not to shoot someone accidentally. The problem is that people are shot on purpose.

tell police if they screw up -- I was afraid for my life, and similar BS. Think George Zimmerman.

Truth is, a lot of people got their training from the military-- where laying down a barrage without a lot of concern for collateral damage is typical -- or from other white wing gun-strokers, where . . . . . .

Connecticut for instance: Sec. 29-36f. Eligibility certificate for pistol or revolver.

"a safety or training course in the use of pistols and revolvers available to the public offered by a law enforcement agency, a private or public educational institution or a firearms training school, utilizing instructors certified by the National Rifle Association or the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and a safety or training course in the use of pistols or revolvers conducted by an instructor certified by the state or the National Rifle Association;



It gives some alternatives, but the state doesn't fund them. The 2013 law after Sandy Hook added the state option, but the funding fell short and has ceased as far as I can tell.
