(4,990 posts)that is some hyperbolic fear mongering (and seeing the OP is using vulgar language) bullshit.
none of those things require a criminal background check (something required to buy a gun from a dealer).
If one wants to "win" the gun control battle, one needs to be factual and on point. This kind of post appeals to the base and will not sway people who are on the fence because the second they fact check this argument all credibility goes right out the window.

(8,652 posts)If I buy a car from a dealer, I need a registration.
If I sell that car to a stranger, he needs to register it.
If I buy a gun from a dealer, I need a criminal background check.
If I sell that gun to a stranger, he only needs to show me a driver's license.

(56,828 posts)it was for the refreshments/snacks for the school play. I showed up with a plate full of large chocolate chip cookies that I had covered with some sort of saran wrap. I was told that each cookie needed to be individually wrapped in plastic in order to be sold. Since I didn't have that handy, it looked like I was not going to be able to contribute - luckily, somebody in line saw what was going on and bought the whole plate (the guy came with his family and some of his kids' friends as well...)
But, I doubt I'd have been that lucky if I showed up 5-10 minutes earlier or later.
