today, the last day of the year. That was the day that Glenn Greenwald linked to a post of mine on Democratic Underground and called me "simple-minded." Then, to make the ecstasy complete, he said that I was a Manichean. Now, folks, it just doesn't get any better than that. I have arrived in the lofty realm of punditry. I have been noticed by a stellar figure in political commentary. To say I am overwhelmed with joy would be the understatement of the year. I don't want to belabor this honor, but you can view the reports here:

As a further fillip to this this honor, a very conservative website has given me an important award, for which I will forever be grateful. Unfortunately, I cannot name the website here on DU.
I have arrived. I am now complete in my satisfaction.
Happy New Year, everyone!

(146,248 posts)by this, more than anyone could know. To be even shat upon by such as Greenwald is high honor, indeed.

(146,248 posts)I am beset from both sides, truly. What now shall I do?
In the immortal words of Martin Luther, "Here I stand. I can do no other."

(146,248 posts)I am unknown to one and all. If I wish to rise in the world of political punditry, I must do as the pundits do, and blow mightily on whatever presents itself, don't you think?
Toot!

(146,248 posts)to which you are replying. As for blowing myself, I don't believe that would be physically possible at my advanced age. I have no experience in such things, so I cannot imagine how such a thing is possible. Can you offer any advice?
You saying you don't know how to blow your own horn?
WTF?
MineralMan
(146,248 posts)and blow them very melodically. I'm particularly fond of blowing my euphonium, which produces delightful music. I'm also partial to a 19th century cornet in my small collection. It's sound is unlike modern cornets, and I find it soothing.
I believe, however, that you intended some sort of insult with your suggestion, but I'm afraid I have no experience with such things.
I was just funnin' ya.
I thought you were funnin' yerself by blowing your own horn, so I joined in.
Sorry if you got pissed off.

The funny thing is that the post linked to was far from black and white in its characterization of Mr. Greenwald. In fact, it supported his right to say any stupid thing he cared to, and I even promised to defend that right at the risk of my life.
Perhaps it is Mr. Greenwald who needs to consult a dictionary. Or, as an alternative, he could email me, and I'll give him the definition, along with the derivation of the word.
