particularly white wing America. Most countries, including Australia in 1996, had the sense to bite the bullet and tell gun-humpers to go pound sand.

expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity.

Only the Republicons are that insane.

1. Thoughts and prayers.
2. NRA attempts to justify whatever insane weapon they used.
3. Christian right comes out and tells the victims to go fuck themselves.
4. President Moron will say something stupid and insensitive. But he looks presidential.
5. Far right conspiracy theories place blame on liberals because reasons.
6. Nothing gets done. Mass killing machines will continue to fly off the shelves and into the hands of people who will continue to kill. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Saying that it was gods wrath and that the victims deserved it is just plain sick.

Thoughts and prayers, thoughts and prayers, thoughts and you know this sounds kinda silly in lieu of actually doing anything.

But, really, there's a limit to how much people care.

Just look how most of those on this forum dropped Puerto Rico cold, even as its misery grew, to marinate themselves in the media's cynical round-the-clock saturation coverage of the Las Vegas murders? CNN's Zucker boasts about how sensationalizing one issue and hitting only that hour after hour is good for business. Cable Kool-Aid. It sells.

Zucker sees news as sports and covers it like sporting events or reality TV shows:

As Zucker sees it, his pro-Trump panelists are not just spokespeople for a worldview; they are “characters in a drama,” members of CNN’s extended ensemble cast. “Everybody says, ‘Oh, I can’t believe you have Jeffrey Lord or Kayleigh McEnany,’ but you know what?” Zucker told me with some satisfaction. “They know who Jeffrey Lord and Kayleigh McEnany are.”

Says Europe to US, "We stopped praying a long time ago. It's a waste of time compared to meaningful human progress that actually makes life better."

Says Putin, "Just what the doctor ordered."

Says China, "Vacation cheeper in Las Vegas now. Must change plans."
