attak weapons should be should be available to no one other than law enforcement and military. Make the sale of dump stocks illegal. Only allow max of 2/3 guns per person. No sales to folks with mental issues. Etc.

The big issue I see is how do we get back the weapons already in the hands of our ppl. I read an eye opening statistic the other day. We the us are 7-something percent of the world population, but US owns 40-something percent of the guns.

The weapons will not disappear over a few years. It'll take decades, perhaps more than a century for some of this stuff to become inoperable and bullets unavailable.

But we have to start somewhere. Getting rid of the mass killing machines comes first.

And the Republican Party and NRA. Until people stop hearing lies 24 hours a day about how they need to protect themselves from all those bad people (i.e., Muslims and people of color) and the government that is coming to take their their guns and everything else away from them, they will continue to own guns. I know far too many people with guns. Most of them have small guns only at home for protection and they never take them out in public. They’re not the poeple to worry about. The ones to worry about are those who purchase military grade weapons that they can convert to automatic. Those weapons should be outlawed. Then we also need a national database of all gun purchases by type and requiring the buyer’s social security number for tracking. Anyone who buys more than one assault weapon goes on a watch list. Gun shows need to be shut down entirely unless sellers agree to provide buyers’ full information. That would be a good start.

Dana Loesch - shilling for the NRA, getting Americans killed just to make a few dollars. Disgusting. Her whole act is about clicks, views, and $$.

Their guns are not literally their penises.

Don't gunhumpers own guns mainly because of insecurity about their own manhood? That's the demographic Loesch plays to - the Fox News weak unmanly loser old man. Works for Dana - she lies, and Fox, the GOP and the NRA pay her to lie. And GOP billionaires get votes to destroy the govt in return for the money they pay her.

People keep asking “When will this end?” I think I’ve finally got an answer.

It will end when we care enough about victims to raise hell even when there ISN’T a mass shooting. It will end when we contribute as much money to Everytown as people do to the NRA. It will end when sane people make gun control their primary political issue. It will end when we care as much about preventing violence as gun nuts care about enabling it.

I scan the cover and the bullet with my only child’s: name on it made me gasp. He was not the Brett who was killed, this time. I grieve for the loved ones of the other Brett from Arizona who died after being shot in the head. I tuck the bulletproof insert in my son’s backpack. I resolve to work harder on the issue of guns.

And i didn't notice it was bullets, and I thought is it some statement on first-names-famous-people, which is a stupid conclusion but I'm kind of tired and sleepy after working most of the night on fixing a friends computer problems...

Oh my god, and only then I realized, oh god it is just so so sad.

...what will you do when the next, bigger, mass shooting happens?
Biggest Mass Shooting In US History scream the headlines...today. Heard on NPR, I think, there have been seven technical mass shootings since Vegas a week ago. Somebody is already out there collecting guns, ammo and explosives to beat the Vegas score. Corporate gambling is solely concerned about its public image. The military industry, including police, is busy gathering more effective retaliation and better surveillance. Citizens have gone to church and left symbols on sidewalks. Survivors have tried to find elusive comfort.
For nothing. To entice future shooters who dream of proving their anatomical parts are bigger. Guns are power. I know because I have one and I know I have it to give me power because I am physically weak and cannot depend on others. It wouldn't be necessary in almost any other technologized country.
Readers here, presumably, realize there are three entities responsible for the dead in Vegas. The first is our assfaced president who, if you turned his head around, you wouldn't know which end was up. Second, Congress which wastes itself getting reelected and thirdly the NRA, composed of very small group of people who should be locked in asylums under heavy sedation along with wives and children for life (remember fascism is genetic).
You want to stop the shootings? Seriously? Not just wringing your hands and trying to untwist your panties? Here's how.
1. Change the emic of our society. Make fascists unacceptable, yet again. Drive them back under the rocks where they live until we stupidly let them out, over and over throughout human history.
2. Exert strict federal control over all weapons. Purchase of a second gun anytime, anywhere, anyplace should be a red flag warning of potential death followed by action to prevent it.
3. Take back our school system so that all primary school age children get the same fact based education that explains loudly and clearly we are all in the same sinking boat.
And speaking of sinking boats: Who is weeping and wailing over Puerto Rico, abandoned and insulted by that hairy sausage stuffed with orange spittle in DC?
