Thoughts, prayers, and now songs

Unless people like this are willing to use their fame to push for tougher weapon legislation then their sympathies and gestures ring hollow in my opinion.

and others who are not involved, really, in policy making. I don't know Jason Aldean at all, and I don't follow that part of the music industry. But, his response is to sing a song. That's what he does. I'm not sure he has any other abilities in the areas of concern.

...to not just sing but to speak out and ask why our laws are so weak.

I think he could do both but maybe that's too much.

if we expect them to serve as spokespeople for much of anything. Most aren't interested in doing that, and so they don't.

Musicians make music. A few musicians are also interested in other things. I don't know Jason Aldean, so I can't say which sort he is.

Not sure what you think he might be able to get done. Any effort he makes in support of legislation will be gunned down by NRA propaganda and by the NRA's enablers, as is always the case.
