In these deep red states we will end up with a lot of white supremacist Senators.

There is a swing vote component that typically votes for the GOP candidate, but stops short of voting for an out-and-out extremist bigot. Some will vote for the Democrat, others 3rd party or no vote. In a midterm where the incumbent president's approval continues at historic lows, this could be quite interesting.

There is reason to be concerned that the GOP Senate ranks could become further infested with those who espouse or enable political extremism. Still, there is still a segment of white moderate-to-conservative voters that are not racists or religious fanatics. I know a few of them and there is a distinction between them and those who are drawn to a Roy Moore type of candidate. Hopefully more will be repelled than inspired by the types that Steve Bannon is supporting.
