https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/dolphins-coach-resigns-after-being-caught-on-video-snorting-white-powder/The Dolphins simultaneously issued a statement of their own. "We were made aware of the video late last night and have no tolerance for this behavior. After speaking with Chris this morning, he accepted full responsibility and we accepted his resignation effective immediately. Although Chris is no longer with the organization, we will work with him to get the help he needs during this time."

(82,849 posts)I have a very strong feeling that Mr. Foerster will get that help, and within a year or two will be back on the coaching staff for some NFL team, because "second chances" and "paid his debt to society." Colin Kaepernick will continue to be unemployed in spite of the fact that several NFL teams could use his services to win more games.
This result will be attributed to the free market and have absolutely no racist overtones.

(2,897 posts)As I've stated before, he hasn't been arrested, charged, and/or sentenced to an unreasonable mandatory minimum. He just lost a lucrative job and finally has to address his addiction before it becomes socially acceptable to let him back into the clubhouse because of "redemption" or "second chances".
To the people bringing up the "War on Drugs" to defend Chris, this is why it's bullshit. A well off man that fed an illegal habit escapes the punishment and gets treatment/chances that someone in a poorer neighborhood wouldn't.

(4,429 posts)but why is he fired? If he were an athlete, wouldn't they put him in treatment??
I'm just looking at him like he's an addict. Addict do stupid things. If they are rich addicts (relatively) then their stupidity looks like something a rich addict would do.
Perhaps he really just needs to quit doing drugs.................

(4,429 posts)when I read it, I thought it was a forced resignation (but that's not what they wrote.........so it was just me assuming).
