Harvey Weinstein's Wife Georgina Chapman Is Leaving Him: 'My Heart Breaks for All the Women Who Have Suffered'
http://people.com/movies/harvey-weinstein-wife-georgina-chapman-separating/
Harvey Weinsteins wife, Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, is leaving him as more women continue to step forward to accuse the movie mogul of decades of sexual harassment and assault.
Weinstein, 65, and Chapman, 41, married in 2007 and have two children together India Pearl, 7, and Dashiell Max Robert, 4.
My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time, Chapman says in a statement to PEOPLE.
There are plans for Weinstein to enter a treatment facility but the mogul, who has been staying at a Los Angeles hotel, has not left yet, according to a source.

(4,429 posts)Is crap. I guess he could do sex offender treatment?? I've got some nice cognitive behavioral books for that.
But in reality - he's going to go to a spa with a therapist.
Please.
Frankly, he needs to cut the crap - no means no (pretty easy stuff........).
(This is coming from a therapist/MSW btw).

(32,591 posts)Why were there no charges against this guy all these years?
Men and women working in Hollywood knew this guy was molesting young women and possibly underage girls. And yet they allowed their own daughters to work for him? They never said anything when this serial predator did exactly what they knew he would to their own daughters?

But the rest, it would require somebody coming forward with a claim within the statute of limitations. There was an attempt to charge him in 2015, but the DA's office says it's the NYPD's fault and the NYPD says it's the DA's fault. Sexual harassment of the sort Weinstein has admitted to isn't necessarily criminal. Asking a random woman to give you a naked massage or watch you shower, while gross, isn't actually a crime. A victim who went through with it would have to come forward. But for many perfectly legitimate reasons, a victim of a sexual assault might not feel comfortable coming forward. For those who reached a settlement with Weinstein, those have confidentiality agreements, they can't then use that in a criminal proceeding.

(4,429 posts)My sense is (and this is not my specialty) that it's just a different typology - that is, who they victimize (children vs. adults). But the use of the word sex offender is okay broadly speaking (from a clinical sense) - given what I've heard about his actions.
IDK about legal sense. (It sounds like you know more about that that I). He's not been convicted as an offender............so
I guess he's suggesting that his error was a 'forceful' or sexist (?) come-on. That he needs re-education on how to....um, approach a modern woman? (Or some such crap
I guess that still puts him at the 1000/day spa with yoga, horse therapy, and a continental breakfast.

(32,591 posts)At least some of the actresses he's hired over the years have been younger than 18. So there haven't been any charges made, but how does it sound to you? I say where there's smoke there's fire.
My point is that Gwynneth Paltrow's mother and father both worked in Hollywood. Do you think they never heard any rumors about Harvey Weinstein? And yet their own daughter had to go through this because they didn't protect her. Mira Sorvino and Angelina Jolie both had parents in the movie industry. I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg. The guy is a serial predator.

(10,362 posts)I don't buy that all of these people were clueless despite it being so well known. Rumors had been flying outside Hollywood for decades about this guy. Blind items connected him to numerous victims. She didn't know, and all these well-connected Hollywood actors, actresses and producers didn't know? Come on.
