Did anyone see Ed Asner just now on MSNBC?

One of the most awkward moments I've seen on TV in awhile.

He was invited onto Chris Jansing's show to discuss the Mary Tyler Moore Show (!) and his role as a longtime supporter of women's rights and equality vis a vis the Weinstein disclosures. His first comment to Jansing was "no kiss?...." !

I imagine she was mortified!

Didn't he say something to the effect that when he sees a woman he finds attractive that is his first reaction but as a gentleman he doesn't act on it.

I can appreciate a woman I find physically attractive but I am not going to disrespect her by acting like a sexist jerk.

We had an anti-war rally here in Seattle when Shrubbie was declaring his never-ending wars, and Ed Asner came out in support and spoke ahead of time to the crowd to fire everybody up. He was peppy and engaged and fun, and it really added to the camaraderie of the occasion to have such a big name take trouble for us.

I've never seen him be a real pig.

I don't know if he was invited by the organizers and was already here for something else, but it really added to the energy to have Lou Grant at the helm!!

he said - sarcastically - that if it's okay for the president to do it then it must be fine for everyone else.

He was gracious and interested in
my social activism and said "god love you . . . " when I left.
