Turn off your phone (unless that's impossible), turn off the tube and disengage.

that is what I do, and it helps a lot.

Also, know that there are millions who feel like you do. Hang in there.

Take a little break from DU.

If you can afford it, donate a little to PR funds. They're the ones in most need right now.

If you can afford it, start saving for $ contributions to help us take back our country in 2018.

If you can, maybe do some volunteer work. If you don't own a pet, adopt one!

Learn breathing exercises and how to meditate.

I'm afraid we haven't touched bottom yet, but please know that we will get through this, but we will have to work for it.

We'll be ok!

If you have an animal shelter nearby, go and devote some volunteer time to walking some dogs, socializing with the animals, and giving them some love. At the moment, I know it's hard to direct any love to humans who have caused the disaster of Trump, but animals are innocent of that. They will calm your soul.

I have a 15 year old dog who needs me, 3 horses, and chickens.

Challenge right now is that it's cold and gray out, I have several days off work, and live far enough out in the country that interactions are few and far between. I'm broke right now, so, no $$ to travel.

Normally I can handle this shit, but it's accelerating at a "disgusting" pace and I just can't wait for the house of cards to fall.

Like when I have to pee and it's worse the closer I get to the toilet...

Hate to admit this but, with pot legal here, at least I can escape that way.

Also - I have quit FB, so that's one good thing.

Knitting can be soothing. Coloring also. It demands attention but is satisfying, for some reason. Pet a cat. Hang in there, it gets better.

Read Gene Sharp, many of his works are available for free.

http://www.aeinstein.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/FDTD.pdf

That's one full of tactics we can and should be using.

Read it and then take another step, find a group that is specifically here for the purpose of fighting back.

Trump, Republicans, the so-called Evangelicals, the "alt-right", Putinists, and the 'media' figures who push it being OK to want to scratch your eyes out rather than agree with a liberal... they all have the same necessary sources of power and vulnerabilities that any crackpot dictator has, and they can be resisted 100% with legal means.

This is the time to begin doing this.

if not all, the same reasons.

It's hard. I try to stay busy but I can't help but check the news all the time -- and that don't help a bit. In my mind, ignoring the news is worse though.

I also have surfing and the ocean close by. Think I'll be doing that this afternoon. It's my church and my therapy in times of need. Where do you get your peace? Go there, do that ... often.

block the top two story article posters who post trumps name in almost every headline- in DU breaking news & notice the difference on DU without the constant 'trump headlines'. I guarantee DU is much easier on the nerves and you just unblock the 'names' if you have to read trump tabloid crap.

It's the constant spam of trumps name that's bad for your health.

I consider myself a mentally strong person, and not a pessimist, but the level of incompetence and stupidity and outright fascism is getting to me. I haven't before felt as disgusted and hopeless and angry as I do this morning.

I've been praying the Mueller investigation would be the answer, but I'm losing hope there, too. We hear nothing and nothing has happened. Talking heads say it could be years.

I hope I'm wrong.

Going to pop in my copy of "Good Night and Good Luck" and bake a pie with pears from our tree. Then clean house (at least it's physical) and then head outside.

learning Esperanto. I plan to attend a world Esperanto conference in Canada in the fall of 2018.

I certainly can't sit on the Internet all day. It's become boring in a way, when I'm not simply looking up things to use IRL - like a crochet pattern for shawls that I make for friends, or cute bullet journal pages to use in my own journal.

I've also been doing more gardening and house cleaning than usual to work off some energy and aggressive feelings. And to be able to sleep at night . . .
