It takes fortitude to consider unpleasant possibilities like the absence of an after-life.

White people who are supremacists believe what they WANT to believe too. It's an ego boost for them.

.....to denigrate the beliefs of others when you have no proof of your counter beliefs. And don't forget, those who refuse to believe in heaven also refuse to believe in hell, so I would question their "fortitude". I don't have a strong opinion either way, but I don't consider atheists courageous - independent thinkers perhaps, but not courageous. Again, the sole point I was making is that everyone has a right to believe what they wish in the absence of proof to the contrary, but I have a big problem with those who would seek to impose their religious or contrary beliefs on others and/or denigrate the belief of others without proof of their own beliefs.

I won't bother again. I'd prefer to NOT discuss things without evidence to support them, to be honest.

Atheists who waste my time discussing this subject are indeed just as annoying. People might as well be debating the existence of an "invisible island" that ships can pass through, as far as I'm concerned. (The difference is that people probably wouldn't get some kind of comfort from that kind of fantasy.)

a lot atheists / agnostics are disgusted by the constant NEGATIVE influence religion has on laws and customs and that's where a lot of the frustration comes from

they want that stuff kept where it belongs
