Repeat as many times during the day as necessary:
"Peace begins with me."
Spread this to all of your friends.
It's really so simple, and it has been spoken by many sages for many thousands of years. I can't even begin to quote them all -- Jesus, Gandhi, Yogananda, Muhammad, and more, and many who aren't generally known -- but they all have said the same freakin' thing.
We are all so tired, aren't we? Let peace begin with you. Please share.

(2,396 posts)I know it would help my mental health besides spreading good will.
It also reminds me of the oldie by the Chambers Brothers, "Love Peace and Happiness".

(14,489 posts)I also like to repeat the phrase "peace be with..... (insert people of choice).
Such as:
Peace be with the people of Syria.
Peace be with the people of Puerto Rico.
Peace be with my troubled neighbor.
etc.
Repeat until I run out of people who need peace in the world. By then, I've usually fallen asleep!

I highly recommend it - a bit of quiet space, breathing deeply, shutting the world out for a few minutes of mindful meditation. It can have an amazing effect on how you feel and interact with the people and world around you.
We have a greater influence on people if we have a sense of quiet and peace about us. Calm and serene.
Even Zeus Dog behaves better if I am feeling calm and peaceful.😌
