Or a claim he lacks mental capacity to understand right and wrong. Or dementia. “Win” is “not spending the rest of my short Orange life in prison” and responding like a raving lunatic to questions under oath would be one step closer

I don't think he understands the concept of "truth." It's all relative to him. Literally; relative as it relates to him.

... intended to get the truth directly from the witness. It is intended to lock in the "story" of the witness so you can impeach it with other evidence. Trump doesn't understand this. But his lawyers - fruitcakes though they may be - do. They will not let him sit for one.

So OBVIOUSLY he's going to lie. But that's not the point of having him under oath. Think about it. What got Bill Clinton impeached? It wasn't the blow job. It was............say it with me now..........LYING about it UNDER OATH. This is going to be one of the main weapons Mueller is going to use to get Trump. Yet another count in his indictment.

It will, however, be fun to watch Republicans twist themselves all up and NOW claim that lying under oath isn't a big deal.
