Theyll say it was Alzheimers: Did longtime Trump pal predict a GOP exit strategy for his preside

‘They’ll say it was Alzheimer’s’: Did longtime Trump pal predict a GOP exit strategy for his presidency?

The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur predicted Republican lawmakers are crafting an exit strategy for President Donald Trump if they’re forced to remove him from office.

The left-wing commentator said Trump’s instability or the Russia investigation could eventually require the GOP majority to end his presidency, either through impeachment or by invoking the 25th Amendment — but he said they have an out.

“The people in power, especially the Republican Party, are not going to want to prosecute if (special counsel Bob) Mueller finds something,” Uygur said. “So the deal is, he’ll step down but don’t embarrass the whole country, especially the Republican party, by prosecuting a sitting president.”

He said Trump’s longtime associate, Roger Stone, had already charted that exit strategy in May by accusing the president’s political enemies of spreading rumors of Alzheimer’s disease.

“He’s the one (Roger Stone) who planted that idea in the first place,” Uygur said. “One of the reasons is, it could be used as a defense if Trump were caught having done something criminal.”

2. That would require Trump accepting their saying that, and his supporters accepting it..

I don't think either is likely.

No matter how clear it is to everyone else that he's mentally ill.
