(5,810 posts)Cant even read a Teleprompter without screwing it up. Every day he sacrifices a few more brain cells.

(31,464 posts)Once he realized his mistake, he repeated "the future of our children" over and over again to try and mitigate his gaffe.

(5,810 posts)He is such a lazy bastard, he cant be bothered with practicing. So when he glanced at the TelePrompTer, he misread it as furniture and it came out of his mouth before he could stop himself. So one more goofy thing to add to the long list of things he has said. He really is a moron. And to think he believes he could join MENSA.

(31,464 posts)That's part of what reading is all about. Context. There are certain words you can anticipate given the subject matter you're talking about. How would an intelligent person even begin to think that the next word would be "furniture." Unless he didn't have the slightest clue what the hell he was talking about...er, reading.

(5,810 posts)First time he laid eyes on it. So on the fly, reading from the TelePrompTer, he looked at the word, only saw some of the letters and said furniture instead of future. It just popped out before he could edit it. It was a clear demonstration of his lack of knowledge of what he was reading before hand. He is a lazy bastard. Wont practice or rehearse or even skim over the text. It chills me to the bone to think this ignoramus is occupying the Presidency. I say occupying because there is no way in hell he got there the legitimatel way. He had inside help and some of us know it. Eventually, we will all know exactly what was done and who done it.

(1,148 posts)You can let words run through your head/out of your mouth without attaching any thought to them. It reminds me of when I would read the bible as a 9 year old and after ten minutes I'm like wait... am I reading the bible? I wonder what it's been talking about.

(23,059 posts)I think he knows that his dementia is growing and is just lying to his base (probably even sometimes himself) to try and cover up and make it seem like at least he thinks he's normal and really smart. He knows he barely graduated college so when he says he was at the top of his class, he's just trying to fool others. It's part of his huge hit back mentality, lie and lie big is what he does constantly.

(63,791 posts)how can you get "future" out of "furniture"? He is showing his dementia symptoms on a daily basis.

(5,810 posts)When you are unfamiliar with the text of your speech, you make mistakes like that. He glanced at the word and intuitively guessed at what he was supposed to say next. We tend to do that when we read....see a grouping of letters and make a guess at what the word should be. We all do that. But HE made that mistake because A. He didnt write the text and B. He was too lazy to read over it before delivering his speech. He likes to just wing it....and often adds in his own comments. Ad lib. That is why we get some really jaw dropping moments when he makes a speech.

(63,791 posts)he likes to go off script. And say things like "calm before the storm" and many more.

(36,364 posts)Recognizing the first two and the last two letters of a word, and blind to everything in the middle is very common with people who have mild learning disabilities. Call it dementia if you want, but I guarantee he's had this problem his entire life, evidenced by his contestant reluctance to read in public.

(45,380 posts)it really is a painful sacrifice in a way. Like Sweden is torturing us with missing parts that we can't get from any hardware store because they are nonstandard. Then try moving. That furniture is meant to go together once and never be taken apart again.
