I'm watching the news, ABC. They say police are saying that the Vegas shooter shot at the large gas tanks nearby. But didn't hit them. WTF? How could you miss? Them things are huge, and VS had high powered weapons. He had to at least have some experience with shooting (where did he go to shoot anyway? A range?).
They went on to say he was targeting first responders. But the two statements don't jibe. Either he is an incredibly bad shot, or not.
Did he hit those tanks and they are keeping it quiet for reasons of public safety? I'd imagine that those tanks would be hard to fix.

(26,260 posts)I'm hard pressed to remember which news source reported that, but it was shortly (within a day or two) after the tragedy.
But then there has been a few contradictory stories coming out, so who knows.

(17,434 posts)It's hard to light and is similar to kerosene. I also read a story that bullets caused leaks in the tank and the tanks were repaired.
I am no expert, but I believe that only the first shot can be carefully aimed when shooting full auto.

(3,255 posts)Gas and fuel oil don't burn. The fumes (gas stae) does. Same with candles. At the range he was shooting at using a bump stock there is no way to be accurate, and I doubt the ammo he was using would have the energy to penetrate steel at this range.
