...was so contagious that after reading him, thinking of throwing yourself into the void seemed to be a nice idea...

I have never heard about him before today. After a quick research, I'm not sure to appreciate him. It looks he had sharp opinions and not willing to change his mind.

But the quote above is undeniably relevant.
