at the Dotard? He's ridiculously unhealthy. There's a reason he was dubbed Dumbass Donnie Two Scoops. I don't Tweet for fear of losing my temper followed by my mind, but tell me that Twitter is dumping on her big time. Please.

I think this sentiment is one of the biggest reasons why it is hard to reform health care. Sure, everyone could eat better and exercise more and we should try to encourage that behavior but we have to be realistic about this. We have to accept that most people will make some bad health decisions sometimes just like people make decisions that will hurt their economic prospects. But that doesn't mean that we stop enacting policies that help unhealthy people or poor people even if they are partly to blame for their situation.

Americans should have a little humility. How many people eat healthy all the time, are perfectly fit or never do anything risky? I think very few. And even fit people can get sick, just like someone who "did everything right" economically can find themselves disabled or out of a job because their industry dried up, or facing age discrimination, etc. The whole point of social insurance is to collectively safeguard the whole population against illness, old age, unemployment and other disasters that sometimes fall upon on us despite our best efforts. You might be healthy now, you might be wealthy now, but you never know what the future holds.
