According to Holly, Weinstein left the shower, dried off, and began approaching her while still naked.
The adrenaline rush I felt, I wanted to flee, I was scared. He told me that I looked stressed and he thought maybe I could use a massage, maybe I could give him a massage. I began just sort of babbling like I was a child, I think it was just the fear. She told him she didnt have a massage license and that maybe they could call the front desk to have a masseuse come up.
Holly said Weinstein began to threaten her, stating that she needed to keep him as [her] ally and that it would be a bad decision if she left the room. At that point, Holly said, she pushed him and ran.
After leaving the hotel, Holly went to a previously planned dinner with other Hollywood notables, who, when she explained why she arrived distraught, said that since Weinstein hadnt raped or assaulted her, she should keep [her] mouth shut because its Harvey Weinstein.

Otherwise he is guilty of sexual harassment, which is a civil matter. She could sue him and get a reputation for being litigious, thus harming her career.
The film and TV business only has a few hundred (maybe a thousand) directors and producers. It's really a small industry. As it is, women only get cast for speaking parts less than a third of the time. So was the advice to stay quiet "wrong"?
What's wrong is Weinstein's behavior. He doesn't get a free pass just because an actress chose to stay quiet and try to forget it ever happened.

(20,174 posts)There have been actresses who were paid for their silence and journalists whose articles about Harvey have been suppressed. I think Bob was just tired of covering for him and making his movies that win awards but lose money. Bob's films, the Dimension Films subsidiary, have been carrying the company for a long time. Even with all the awards Harvey has won as producer, the Weinstein Company is only worth about $150 Million because it has a boatload of debt. I think Bob is trying to cut his losses and save what he can of the company.
