New health deal falls flat with GOP

The chairman of the conservative Republican Study Committee in the House dismissed the offering from Sens. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) and Patty Murray (D-Wash.) as an affront to GOP promises to repeal President Obama’s signature legislation.

“Anything propping [ObamaCare] up is only saving what Republicans promised to dismantle,” said Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.), who leads a group of more than 150 conservatives.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) stopped short of promising to bring the bill to the floor, and while Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) offered some praise, not a single Senate GOP conservative offered strong public support for the compromise.

Senate Democrats, in contrast, hailed the deal, and pressed GOP leaders to quickly bring it to the floor.

constituents suffer and alas they really like to see blue states suffer more. With GOP constituents, they have hate radio, fake news among others to deflect who the real people of blame are.

They could prevent millions of people from losing healthcare and still hold up their promise of repealing Obamacare in the future. This shows what the manipulation from right wing radio Fox News has done to the Party. It is extremely disconnected from the rest of society.

and the subsidies this morning but my hope faded as I listened to the afternoon news and how the House GOP are reacting. They are hell bent on killing Americans (yes, even the Dem ones like me WILL suffer, go bankrupt and eventually die before this can ever hope to be "un-done&quot .

on the Senate side, we have 53 votes for. I think Nancy can pull in enough yes votes on the House side to get it passed if Ryan put it up for a vote.

This bill has no chance to get through congress and they know it and even if it did it would not surprise me to see republicans in the senate filibuster it. Yes I firmly believe there are repukes in the government that what filibuster their own party to deny healthcare. The best hope is that some court puts an injunction on the crap Trump did and demand he keeps making payments until the appeal process is exhausted.
