It's not often you come across a candidate who's occupation is "convicted stalker"

I'm updating my database of competitive races for 2018, and came across the following candidate in the NM-2 Democratic Primary:

David Alcon for Congress

30-year-old 'obsessed' with ex gets probation

Early in the morning on the first day of his trial in September for allegedly stalking his ex-girlfriend, David Lee Alcon sprinkled rose petals on the woman's front porch.

"It was just unbelievable to me, David, that on the eve of trial you were violating my court order knowing I had you on (global positioning system) and would know what you'd be doing," state District Judge Michael Vigil said Friday before sentencing Alcon. "That is creepy. That is scary for a person. You would not go away. Violence takes a lot of different forms. (What you did) was a form of violence to the victim."

A Santa Fe County jury convicted Alcon, 30, of aggravated stalking and trespassing.

He was alleged to have broken into the woman's home in late summer 2007 — police found him passed out in the residence with the alarm going off, said former Assistant District Attorney David Foster, who prosecuted the case. Alcon later showed up at the woman's house late at night, left notes and flowers on her truck, left harassing messages for her and drove past her home, Foster said.

It was Grimm who threatened to throw a reporter of the balcony after a SOTU address. He did seven months for tax evasion and now he's ready to get back in the game.
