Dear Rachel,

You're now NUMBER ONE in cable news. And I just wanted to say THANK YOU for using your NUMBER ONE rated cable show to INTERVIEW ACTUAL EXPERTS, and to give ACTUAL EXPERTS a HIGHER PROFILE!

For example...inviting Rukmini Callimachi, the NYT's expert on the Islamic State to give an EXPERT opinion on the developments in Raqqa. As opposed to the usual cable show lazy habit of inviting their half assed panel of pundits, who really don't know anything about anything, to pull opinions out of their ass.

I don't want to hear the opinions of people who know NOTHING about the subject they're commenting on. That's a "post-truth" cable news habit that we need to push back against. It's exactly that kind of 'journalism' that brought us to where we are now. It's exactly that kind of slack-ass 'reporting' that brought us President Trump. Cable news roundtable panel discussions are to journalism what televangelist hucksters are to religion. Its not journalism, it's 'journalosity.' It's not truth, it's truthiness. That's exactly what we have to fight back against!

There are only two cable news show hosts that I know of who invite REAL EXPERTS to their panels. Rachel Maddow MSNBC, and Fareed Zakaria CNN. BRAVO to both of you!

4. Rachel is must see tv in my house, I gave up on Fareed when he pronounced that "Trump became....

POTUS today" after some event that I can't even recall now. Haven't watched him since. However, like you, I am down to a couple of shows that I rely on for news. I don't care about Trump's daily tweets. I want reports on what he's actually doing, not what he's saying. He's an entertainer. He's expert at distraction and diversion, and he plays the media for suckers everyday.

8. I loved his FZ's show. Never missed it, but that was a defining moment for me. Some in the media..

seem so anxious to normalize the orange a**hole in the Oval Office that they seem willing to embarrass not only themselves, but the country as well. I just can't watch him anymore. Hopefully, I'll get over it, because I really miss the smart experts he uses.
