that is more the norm for a President that Trump is not. I doubt he will call a woman who just lost her husband in battle, and tell her, her husband knew what he was getting into. He's nuts, but unlike Trump, that doesn't necessarily preclude intelligence. Insanity and intelligence aren't mutually exclusive. In Pence's case, he has just enough smarts to make him dangerous because his D.C. experience showed him where the buttons and levers are; he has some idea of how things work, and he's also highly malleable. Pence would inevitably prove the old dictum that a little knowledge is a very dangerous thing, indeed.

but we need Trump to be running in 2020 to get the White House back. Pence will be like a breath of fresh air after the toxicity of the Trump administration, and we can't afford to let people feel that way. The only way we're rid of them both is by the ballot box in three more years.

In the meantime, we will have stalemate, except for executive orders. Elections have consequences, hopefully more voters will remember that next time around.
