The Democratic Party is made up of virtually the entire electorate (the best of Americans). Majorities, sometimes huge ones, of women, youth, working people, middle class people, wealthy people, across the racial, sexual and religious spectrum voted Democrat.
We include a full third of those notorious white working class men, in spite of this era of anxiety evoking change that benefits those who accept the challenge but not those who do not. Nearly half of older and retired people are Democrats or Democrat leaning.
We overwhelmingly include women voters. Women are half of all Americans and of all racial, religious and ethnic groups, and it's past time stop discounting that huge reality.
Yes, we were rejected in this era by a critical margin of white working class men who had once been with us, who were unwilling to meet the challenges of workplace change and are now angry and frightened to find themselves competing on less of a superior basis with women and minorities for jobs going the way of blacksmithing and ice cutting.
They instead voted with those conservative white voters who choose loyalty to what has become a white supremacy party that has been completely corrupted by racial and partisan hate and dark money. But many will be sorry because, quite simply, they don't belong with those people.
Bottom line, these are our party identities:
The Democratic Party of We the People, All the People
The Republican Party of White Supremacy and White Billionaires.
