Lulu the dog flunked out of CIA bomb-sniffer school because she just didn't care

Terrorists might be heading to American airports with explosives-packed suitcases right now. Violent extremists could be fashioning pipe bombs in their basements. Thousands of U.S. security officials spend their days and nights preoccupied with detecting and preventing such threats.

But you know who doesn’t care? Lulu the black Lab doesn’t care.

Until recently, the young pup was training to be an explosive detection K-9 for the CIA. It’s an important and noble job, one the agency refers to as no less than “the first line of defense against explosive threats to agency personnel and buildings at Headquarters and abroad.”

But Lulu, the CIA announced Wednesday in a series of tweets, was really not into it.

She's a beauty! I have a copper brown lab-mix, and she's small. And very smart. Much smarter than my large male lab-mix.

such a lovely dog. Blackie rode in baby carriages, dressed in clothes, Halloween costumes, ran after us, played frisbee,fetched...one day I got out...about four years old maybe and took the dog and my Mother's expensive italian high heels and went walking. The dog wouldn't let the police near me...so they just followed until the dog found the way home...lost one of my mother's shoes too.

17. Our animal shelter adopted husky figured dog school was some peculiar sort of nap time.

He'd melt into the floor, becoming an immovable object.

If we were lucky he'd open his eyes for a bit with an expression of whatever... and then he'd go back to napping.

He learns things quicker than any dog I've ever known, it's just that he's unmotivated by treats or anything else. If he doesn't see why he should shake someone's hand, he won't. Meanwhile our other dogs will be doing backflips, eager to show complete strangers what they know.

This dog just wanted to be a dog and that's okay.
